4. New home, New school

I started this year at Thousand Oaks High School, where I played in the varsity field hockey team. But on September 1st my teammate told me she knew a great family who would like to host this year (thanks Bret <3). I immediately contacted my (future) host sister. And after I got to know her and her family a little bit better I knew I would be so lucky if I got to live with them. They also invited me for a birthday that was 2 days later. So there I went, with my arrival family on a 30 minute drive, incredibly nervous, to their house to meet them. I had a great, and a little overwhelming, day, and I was sooo happy I met them.

The thing was, if I wanted to live there permanently I had to switch schools as well, since TOHS is not in the same district as their house (or something, I still don't really get it). I was so scared that their high school, Moorpark High School, wouldn't accept me, but after five days of waiting and being stressed out, my arrival family told me MHS accepted me!!

So on September 7th I could finally pack my suitcases, for the third time lol, and leave my welcome family to go live with my new host family.

My host family: Lindsey (father), Janelle (mother), Gracen (daughter), and Piper (daughter). They have the most adorable dog and cat, and as I'm writing this, Squirrel (the cat) is licking my arm lol. --> Update, 30 seconds later: he attacked me.

The school I'm going to is Moorpark High School. I am a junior (11th grade/ *5e van de middelbare*) and the classes I'm taking are Ceramics, US History, Chemistry, Student Government, Math, and English. And because I changed schools I'm not playing field hockey at a high school anymore, but I play at a field hockey club now.

I guess this was everything I can say about my new placement :)
